This photo was taken in my home.Time
This photo was taken around 3:00 p.m.Lighting
I used natural light coming in from my window. This guitar is hanging on my wall in the house, and the light is coming from the window from the opposite side.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3200 with an 18-55 mm lens. I held the camera in my hands. I didn't use any other equipment.Inspiration
This guitar is special to my husband as it was handmade for him by someone he met in Africa when he traveled there. I started taking pictures of it from different angles playing around to see how the guitar looked from different angles.Editing
I did a little bit of post-processing. I just enhanced the contrast and converted it to black and white. I liked the black and white effect because it gave it more of an antique look and reflects the characteristics of the guitar more accurately. In my camera bag
Now, I have a Nikon D7100 and I carry usually two lenses all the time. It depends on what I'm going to shoot as to which lens I decide to take. Normally, I always have my 18-140 mm lens. I take my external flash, cleaning kit, lens' hoods, extra battery for my camera, and extra batteries for my flash. If I'm going to shoot an event I usually take my other camera as backup.Feedback
To get interesting abstract photos, always be willing to try different angles, and take several different shots of the object. Don't get too focused on just one aspect of the object because you can loose an awesome shot by not trying different angles, lighting, etc. Think outside of the box.
