I took this photo in my backyard on my ping pong table.Time
It was in the evening when I was outside playing ping pong with my husband. Our puppy Great Dane was interested in the ball, so I decided to take some pictures of him.Lighting
It was sunny outside, but we were in the shade. I didn't use a flash or any extra lighting.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3200 camera, which was all I had at the time and I can't remember which lens I used, but I know it was a telephoto lens. That's all the equipment I used to take the picture.Inspiration
I thought it would be interesting it I could just get my puppy's face and front feet up on the ping pong table and to get him to look at the ball. I really like taking photos of pets, and seeing what I can do so that's how I came up with this shot. It took a lot of shots to finally get the right one. We ended up having to hide dog food behind the ball.Editing
I just applied a heavy black and white film to the photo and cropped it a little bit.In my camera bag
Now days when I'm shooting for a client, I have my Nikon D750, 35mm lens, 50 mm lens, and 85 mm lens, cleaning kit, instruction manual (in case my camera acts up, it hasn't yet so yay!), extra camera battery, flash, the flash connectors to hook it up off camera, and my rapidbox (if it's later in the evening). Of course, I always carry business cards.Feedback
It takes patience working with dogs especially trying to get them to do something like this. Also creativity, like hiding dog food behind the ball because after a few times of doing it he wasn't interested anymore until we hid the dog food behind it.
