One of the lovely scenes on our way to Badland, South Dakota, USA. I went inside the barbwire fence and retreated again because their ears stood up. This reminds me of my story when I was young, one of the bulls ran after me so I went to climb the coconut tree.

Very nice capture, I like the colors in the sky along with the silhouetted Bovines. Congratulations on your award.

those silhouette shapes! And the crimson sky looks like a field they want to graze on.

Location
In our way going home from our vacation in Washington State. As we pass through the hilly part of South Dakota we saw these cows.Time
I captured this moment during the golden hour in Summer on August 10, 2011 at exactly 7:55:33PM when sun was about to set after a long travel on that day.Lighting
I saw the dramatic display of the clouds and we stopped our car and I went inside the fence but suddenly the cows ears stood up and it seems they were nervous about my presence or about to attack me. So after a few shots I suddenly got out from the fence. I got them silhouetted. I never had the chance to set up and got another detailed shots.Equipment
I used my Canon Eos 5D Mark II and with canon lens EF70-200 f2.8/ IS II USM. It was a handheld shot.Inspiration
As I look at the clouds and the animals grazing on those brushes and grasses the artistic capability of my mind perks and decided to capture the moment.Editing
Yes I did. I did a little of dodging in the foreground. In my camera bag
I usually bring with me my 4 EOS canon Cameras and set up already with the lenses I'd like to use to capture the moments. I have telephoto and if it happen that I see bird along the way then I can easily grab that camera and take photos of the birds or some wild animals. I have for very wide angles and I usually use it to capture landscapes, I have medium camera and I use it for back up, and I have infrared I always bring it because when the sun is so high I can still capture photos using the infrared capability of my camera. Of course I have my tripod for my star trails and 1 tripod for landscape and day use. Of course I use trigger release to aid me in capturing my shots. I always bring lens cloth. and I have 2 circular Polarizers and 2 ND filters and 1 graduated ND filter.Feedback
I am a photographer that doesn't choose subject. I will shot everything under the heat of the sun. What comes up I will take photo of it. So before leaving our house I see to it that I am ready, ready means to me: a. I wear proper attire. The most comfortable attire. I know that I am a photographer so I wear pants so whenever there is a situation I need to immerse myself I can do it because I am not in fashion costume. b. All my cameras and lenses are ready. Whenever there is moment I can capture it. c. All my memory cards are there emptied already and ready for the next event. d. So a situation like this where I captured photo of farm animals I dare to come closer however I see to it to myself that animals won't hurt me. Might be theses cows won't hurt me but I was having an experience when I was young that the bull run after me and I climbed up at the coconut tree to save myself. So, I put a little of precaution already by this time. So, by having the aforementioned "what to do list" I did capture the moment. Don't forget always smile and have fun.
