I really like this one! Nice shot! Close-ups & macro shots of flowers/butterflies/bugs get old. You got my vote!ðŸ„

I was fortune enough to find one of these - you seem to have found a whole field. Amazing. Great find.

Location
This was taken in an area of the woods that had a natural archway of lilac trees, a small group of them, that homeless people frequently took advantage of. I would walk here twice a day with my two labs. At this time the most recent past homeless camper was a pair who set up house to the best of their ability. To the extent that the young man would take a ‘found wheelbarrow’ down the dirt access road to a pile of wood chips and bring them back to camp and make a pad of chips throughout. It was quite impressive. So, as always, they eventually moved out. After some time with the area being empty of campers, one morning I walked into here and discovered these beauties. The leaves had covered the wood chips and those wood chips had begun to decompose.Time
The girls (my labs) and I walked early in the morning to catch the best macro photos when the air is still. An important aspect to consider for a lover of macro photography. Almost all of my pictures are taken without any manipulation, just as it is in nature. The only manipulation is my body and arms to get the best frame and angle. And these babies are gone by late morning. They did come back each morning for several days, then not for some time, and then come back some, but never like this again.Lighting
I almost never use the flash, just natural light. This was very early, looking east with the sun quite low yet. These tiny, never more than two inches tall, if that, mushrooms were translucent, they were so thin. I was always so excited to see them there the next morning. This particular area has lent me hundreds of photographs of various tiny, tiny, mushrooms. Some that grew on a living tree, maybe oak, but was covered in moss, and the mushrooms hid in the moss.Equipment
This was pre- iPhone and pre-Canon, so it was very limited in adjustments. It’s a Panasonic Lumix with no way to change the lens. I love the pictures it takes if I’m not trying to get a single tiny subject in focus. And it was taken with my hands on the ground under the camera to keep the camera from getting damp.Inspiration
I am always aware of tiny things in my surroundings. Especially in the woods. I had never seen these before and they were very small to tiny, right on the ground in front of me. Sort of like put there just for me to show you...????Editing
I did a little darkening because it was washed out some from facing the low sun. I used Lightroom for that. It shows in the dark leaves at the bottom. In my camera bag
I can’t say I take a bag with equipment in it very often. I have become spoiled by the current iPhone 10 and the added macro lens that actually fits on it. It’s extra and gives me beautiful macro photos. Plus, with the iPhone I can get right up on top of my subject. For landscape I will take a bag with my Canon and lenses, etc.Feedback
Walk. Take a camera and pay attention to your surroundings. There are things you never see because they are so tiny, you just miss it. Go look closely to the flowers, or little mushrooms. The smaller they are, the more impressive they are when you get up close.
