great shot you must of been on the tarmac. Love the heat distortion off the back of the plane

Behind The Lens

Location

El Centro, CA just outside the fence at the end of the runway

Time

Mid Morning practice session for the Blues

Lighting

All natural

Equipment

I believe this was my Canon 5D Mk 3 with the mighty 500mm f4 II and 1.4tc3 totaling 700mm

Inspiration

Wanted this type of shot right down the runway

Editing

A little tweak to the contrast

In my camera bag

These days I've scaled back to the Sony A7rii with Metabones mk4. Still using my Canon glass, 300mm f2.8II, tc3's, 70-200, 24-70, 16-35.

Feedback

The long focal length was key here. Lens compression in full effect and the ability to get in close as the planes were quite far away.
