Location
This was taken in Bruceton Mills, WV A friend of mine is a firefighter there and asked if I would take a photo of his jacket, along with the truckTime
This was taken during the afternoon. I had to drive over an hour to get to this location, and I was afraid it was going to rain. The day turned out to be beautiful and just enough cloud coverage so I got some natural filters. This is one of my favorite pictures of mine.Lighting
I was afraid it was going to rain, but it held off and turned out to be a beautiful day with enough cloud coverage for natural filters. The sun was behind me, in the late part of the afternoon when this photo was taken. I don't recall using a flash.Equipment
This was taken with a Canon T3 with the standard lens it came with. Flash and tripod were not used.Inspiration
My friend John is a firefighter here and asked if I would take photos of him, his wife, their dog, and some things around the station. I asked him to grab his work coat and equipment and throw it over the front bumper of the truck.Editing
I ran this image through Photoshop. It has been since 2013 since I have taken this photo, so I am truly not sure when I used. I am sure I used NIK software though, but as to what filters from NIK, I truly do not recall. In my camera bag
I now have a Canon SL2 with a Tamaron 18-400 lens in my bag. I carry two extra batteries, a cleansing cloth, extra camera cards, and chapstick. I try to keep it simple.Feedback
Keep it simple. In my opinion, less is best.
