Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my back garden. The pink flower is called Her Robert and they are a tiny, delicate flower. There were in abundance this summer so I had to take a few shots of them. There's so many shapes and textures to them when you get close. On this occasion I spotted a small snail climbing in amongst them.

Time

It was late morning when I took this shot particular shot.

Lighting

It was an overcast day with only sparodic sunlight so it was quite nice just to be able to take shots from any angle.

Equipment

The only equipment I used was my Fuji HS10 bridge camera with an Raynox dcr250 macro lens attached.

Inspiration

The love of insects, flowers and macro shots were the inspiration this time. I spend quite a bit of time wandering around the garden having a look to see what's happening in the plants and undergrowth.

Editing

The only post-processing was to crop the picture ad adjust the exposure slightly.

In my camera bag

Not a lot really due to being on a tight budget and only having the HS10. I use the Raynox lens a lot, but have some filters and a fisheye lens which comes out now and then.

Feedback

Be patient and have a good look as to whats happening right under your nose. You'll be surprised whats to be found.
