Location
I took this photo in my back garden in a village called Needingworth near Cambridge, UK.Time
It was late morning on a sunny day.Lighting
It was a very sunny day which was why there were a few grasshoppers sunning themselves. I had to follow this one around the bush it was in to restrict the glare of the sun.Equipment
I used my ever reliable Fuji HS10 bridge camera along with a Raynox dcr250 macro lens. I never go anywhere without them. No flash was used and no tripod, just my knee and a steady hand.Inspiration
I love insects and nature and I'm constantly amazed at what is right under my nose. A whole new mini world. I try to take shots of insects without too much clutter in the background or in the frame itself. It can be difficult but an enjoyable challenge.Editing
The only post-processing was a slight crop and straightening. In my camera bag
The only equipment I carry (at present) is a few filters, fish eye lens and the Raynox macro lens. A tight budget puts a lot of restrictions on what I can own at present.Feedback
The best advice would be to have a lot of patience and don't be afraid to get down amongst the undergrowth. There's a whole new world waiting to be photographed.
