The photo was taken near my home. I am lucky to live close to forests, lakes and rivers in the southern Poland.Time
It was gloomy afternoon of November 11, 2012. I remember the walk through forest quite clearly as it was one of the few moments when my father's health allowed him to join me. In the same time it was one of the last photos I took with my old Kodak DX7630, a camera which was my guide to digital photography.Lighting
There was something melancholic in the scenery, in the general day's mood. The light was terrible most of the time; gentle rain, clouds and wind were not helping either. I even wondered why I took the camera with me, but then, for a short moment, everything was put in order. The sun - still shy - came out for a minute or two, and brought my attention to the autumn leaves and drops of water. For few moments I could enjoy making portrait of the season.Equipment
Kodak DX7630.Inspiration
During the walk I was hoping to get some shots of Autumn in its more moody nature of mid-November. Most of the time I didn't take camera out of the bag, feeling lack of inspiration. Then, out of nowhere, when I was ready to give up, came that one perfect moment which perfectly clicked with my initial vision.Editing
I do not like post-processing. I try to minimize it as much as possible. Here I enhanced colors a bit and played with HDR in order to make the image more alive, taking away the fogginess produced by the camera and general aura of the moment. In my camera bag
Currently on daily bases I am not moving anywhere without Sony NEX 5N with a 16mm pancake lens.Feedback
I would love to give one specific advise on how to capture similar image but there is nothing specific that could be helpful more than just: open mind, open eyes, always look around and do not give up even if nature is showing you that power is out of your hands.
