The image was taken at 15:45 on a Sunday afternoonLighting
The image was shot at 1/180 F9.5 ISO 400. The image was lit from the front with a basic lighting set up, lit with transluscent umbrellas. Don't be afraid of high ISO. Grain looks different in print and gives a print a totally different feel.Equipment
I used a Canon 1000D and a 18-55mm Kit lens. Studio flash was used and it was shot hand held.Inspiration
I am very much inspired by classic works, retro, half portraits, different styles especially European photography. I also like linear work and lines, form.Editing
I used a high key preset i have developed in lightroom as a base for the tones, to suit the lighting. and just teaked the tones until i was satisfied with the result.In my camera bag
Since taking this image i have upgraded my gear and now shoot with two Canon 50D's one fitted with a 70-200mm F4 L and the other with a 50mm Prime. Also in my bag are YN560-III flash units that I use if the lighting/shoot requires it. Also in my bag is my old 1000D that i sometimes use with the 118-55mm kit lens. Various memory cards and batteries.Feedback
Think out of the box, research work other than the standard glamour posing modelling work. Work on what YOU as a person find interesting and photograph it.
