Superb image. A calendar picture I must say.Slow shutter speed but pin sharp. I have seem many similar shots but this is one of the best. Top scorer. By the way, which place is this?

Sorry so long to get back to you. This was taken at the Grist Mill in Babcock State Park in Southern WV. Thank you for the kind words

Location
This was taken at The Glade Creek Grist Mill inside Hawks Nest State Park in Fayette County, West Virginia. I grew up in WV and have family not far from this location.Time
It was taken midday. Between 1-3 pm.Lighting
The day was overcast and probably not the best light for taking pictures. I used a little longer exposure as to get the effect with the waterfall.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with a Canon EFS 18-55mm IS lens. A Manfrotto tripod with a pistol grip style adjuster and a remote trigger.Inspiration
Like I had mentioned in the location section, I grew up and have family near this location. This is by far one of the most iconic and popular places to photo in WV. I would say it is safe to say thousands of photos have been taken of this mill. It is extremely popular during the fall foliage season. I just wanted to recreate one of the images that remind me home and put my POV into it.Editing
Very little. Mostly just upped the contrast and some shadow and highlight work.In my camera bag
I carry two cameras. A Canon EOS Rebel XT for a back up and my main camera is a Canon EOS T3i. My lens include A Canon EFS 18-55mm IS Lens, Canon EFS 55-250mm IS Lens, Canon 100-300mm Lens and a Tamaron 2x tele-converter. Various filters and cleaning tools. Also a plug in remote and a IR remote for those shots I need absolute stillness. A large attachable flash and a Manfrotto tripod.Feedback
I honestly do not know all the technical in and outs of photography. I know the basics. All I can tell people (from a beginners stand point) is don't be afraid to go out and shoot things "you" enjoy. The great thing I have found in photography is the fact that it slows down the world around us. It makes you look at the world in a closer more different way. I always tell people as a society we are focused on the whole of everything and rushing from one place to another. We forget to take the time and look at the individual "trees" in the proverbial forest. There in lays the beauty of individual things. When you slow down a start actually looking you find a lot.
