My grandfather was a charcoal artist, and Lincoln was his favorite subject. This photo is an amazing capture of his memorial. Thanks. :)

Location
This photo was taken at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.Time
I took this shot at night.Lighting
Because it was evening, the only lighting was from the Memorial.Equipment
The camera I used for this was a Canon PowerShot S5 IS, no tripod or flash.Inspiration
I had always wanted to see the Lincoln Memorial. When I stepped inside, it felt sacred to me. I was in awe of this magnificent work of art.Editing
I did very little editing on this, only working with contrast and highlighting. In my camera bag
I now have 3 camera bodies - a Canon Rebels t3i and two t5i so that I don't have to keep changing lenses. Two are attached to my Black Rapid strap which I find very useful. I have 4 lenses - 10- 18mm, 17-55mm, 70-300mm, and a macro. I have a MeFOTO tripod in my trunk. I occasionally use polarizing lenses.Feedback
It felt to me as though Lincoln was looking directly at me and almost trying to give me a message. I wanted to capture that feeling rather than getting a different view of the statue. I was pleased with the way it looked against a black background when editing. Much of my inspiration has honestly come from other members on VB. I have asked myself what I like and what I don't like about thousands of photos here. I then try to do the same to my own photos.
