Location
Taken from my friends balcony in Bayaleau on the isle of Carriacou. Petite Martinique is the island in the shot, a short boat ride or longer kayak trip from our beach. Carriacou and Petite Martinique are two of the islands that make up the tri-island country of Grenada in the West Indies.Time
This is dawn - 3:43am - about 20 minutes before sunrise. I only learned the difference between dawn/sunrise and sunset/twilight living on this island.Lighting
The colors came up slowly - then Wham!!! It was the most stunning lightshow I've ever seen from Mother Nature. The colors faded to almost nonexistent and then the sun rose bringing with it more, different color but it paled compared to this! I never knew dawn could be so spectacular!Equipment

The island of Carriacou inspires me everywhere I turn! I was never a morning person until I lived there - the photographic opportunities in the skies there inspire me to get up early!!!Editing
Saturation was added lightly, as it didn't need much!In my camera bag
I shoot with a Nikon 7100 and my favorite lens is my 300mm zoom. But I always carry a phone with a good camera. I have been looked down upon by "real" photographers for using a phone, but I am impressed with today's technology in these cameras - as this photo illustrates. But I'll never give up my DSLR!Feedback
Get up early!! Try many different types of cameras. If you love the image you've captured - be Happy no matter how it was taken!
