Film still has a place in contemporary photography- there's a quality of the gradation that hits a chord in the viewer's soul; similar to hearing music on vinyl. Great, great job!

Perfect symmetry and shape to the trees, made better with the grainy look. Film still holds a place in this digital world.

Why are there trees in the reflection that are not on the island being reflected on the waters surface?

If you flip the image it looks the same as how you presented it. Having a background in physics and atmospheric optics tells a different story.

Location
I shot this scene in an rural area, I have passed by the place many times, but this time I thought the light and mood of the scene was right.Time
It’s dawn as the sun rises, with fog working as a diffuser and evening the light, helping creating this special atmosphere. After I shot this frame, the fog disappeared within minutes..Lighting
To get the the metering and the light the way I want, I meter with an one degree hand held spot meter.Equipment
I used my Mamiya RZ67 Pro ii, 110mm f2.8 lens and film back loaded with Kodak Tri-x to capture it.Inspiration
The mood and atmosphere of this scene inspired me to capture it.Editing
This is a straight scan from the negative, added a little contrast, but nothing more. I strive to get the negative as good as possible, it saves a lot of editing in the darkroomIn my camera bag
What equipment I have in my bag varies what I'm going to shoot, or if I have to carry light. or can bring more heavy equipment. I carry the Mamiya c330s with 65mm,80mm 180mm and 250mm, or the Mamiya RZ67 normally with 50mm/65mm, 90mm/110mm one of the 180mm, 250mm, the Fuji GX680iii with 65mm, 100mm, 180mm, the Fuji GW690 or GW670, both with fixed 90mm lens, or the Linhof Master Tech Classics with 105mm, 150mm, 250mm, 360mm. If I want to carry ultra light, I use cameras that shoots 135 film - Tripod. I use the 1 degree meter Sekonic l-758DR for demanding lighting situations. Then I can place the shadows, mid tones and highlight in the zones needed.Feedback
Look for the light and mood of a scene. You have to have patience, and maybe you have to go back to the same place several times to get what you want. You can’t photoshop a mood, or a certain atmosphere to a landscape. There are no shortcuts, it is just hard work and keep pushing it, a lot of frustration, but when you are at the right place at the right time, that’s all forgotten.
