This photo was taken in my friend`s parents house, they have a beautiful and idyllic place on the countryside. I was doing a photo shoot for her beauty spa.Time
It was a afternoon, last Sunday of March, we here in Finland start to wake up from our winter sleep around that time of the year. After a very dark period, the sunny Sunday was more than welcome, and good for my shoot too!Lighting
I am mostly a natural light photographer, so this is just pure natural light. There were just nice shade from trees and bushes on her left.Equipment
I shot this with my Canon 5dmarkIII and 70-200 2.8 L lens.Inspiration
The whole photo shoot! And Spring! And of course I was so inspired to shoot with this lovely model, who I can call my muse and a friend. Her sister has bought that beautiful flower as a prop and that was it. I get my inspiration from people, light, clothes, scenery... and yes I have a thing for flowers too!Editing
Yes I did some, played a little with curves, gradient color and added little bit contrast. And the main post-processing here is using texture layer. I started to experiment with textures about a year ago. I am still learning about using them, but I think that with this one I did it right. Colors were already like in a water colour painting, and after texture it made whole photo look like even more a painting. In my camera bag
I have my 2 camera bodies, at the moment Canon 5dmarkIII and Canon 5dmarkII. Waiting for 7dmarkII! And my go to lenses are 85mm 1.2, 70-200mm 2.8 and 24-70mm 2.8. Sometimes there are few extra lenses but I think those 3 are the ones which are always with me during shoot. My bag is a mess by the way! There are too much other stuff I think I will need, and almost hardly never use!Feedback
I think this one is just really plain and simple, just perfect light and matching color palette. Quite easy to capture, but sometimes easy and simple are more effective or just as effective than more dramatic light or styling or background. I am self-taught photographer and I love to always try new things, and I have noticed I am going for more dramatic way (especially I love dramatic black&white photographs) , but yet there is still this woman in me who sees much beauty in simple things in life.
