This photo was taking during a visit to Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah. I was exploring the area looking for interesting things to capture with my camera.Time
This is one of my favorite photos from my trip to the Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah. I remember we were exploring the area and there were a lot of these types of trees that looked dead. I was looking for one of interest to give a really good desert vibe. We were there in the middle of the day around noon to 2pm.Lighting
I used the natural light provided by the mid-day sun. Where ever I go, I'm usually carrying my camera on me ready to capture whatever jumps out at me visually. Therefore most of my photos are with natural light.Equipment
This was taken with my Nikon D7100 and a Nikon 70-300 mm f/4-5.6G zoom lens.Inspiration
I'm always looking for shots that intrigue me and this dead looking tree spoke to me.Editing
I turned the original photo into a black and white and played with the contrast to get the effect you see in this photo. In my camera bag
Nikon D7100 with one of the following lenses: Nikon 24-120mm f/4G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR Lens; Tokina 100mm f/2.8 AT-X M100 AF Pro D Macro Autofocus Lens; or Nikon 70-300 mm f/4-5.6G Zoom LensFeedback
One aspect of a landscape photographer is to have patience and wait for the right time. Dusk and dawn tend to be the go to right times when it comes to landscape photography. However, daylight condition can also create interesting situations worthy of capturing, such as this photo. I tend to take photos of everything and anything I feel is of visual interest. You never know what shots will move or attract people's attention. Don't rule something out just because you may think it's ordinary. I aspire to make the ordinary look not so ordinary.
