This is outstanding. Love the emptiness of the water around, well done for diving! Super fun but terrifying!

Very good shot, and well-presented! It is certainly awe-inspiring, especially expressed by folks that have only the "worst side" data about sharks. Congrats! :)

Location
This photo was taken at the Neptune Islands which are 50km off the South Australian Coast. It was aboard a Great White Shark Diving adventure with Rodney Fox Expeditions. Rodney Fox was and still is one if the most famous Great Shark attack survivors and has dedicated his life to the protection and research of these magnificent creatures. I was lucky enough to meet him on this trip and here the stories off his attack. It was the best experience I have ever had diving with these awesome creatures and I'll definitley be back to do it again at some point in time.Time
It was taken in the afternoonLighting
The afternoon sun was at the perfect angle to light up the shark and give the image a nice depth of fieldEquipment
This image was actually taken with an Olympus shock proof point and shoot camera. Since I don't own a underwater housing and I didn't have a gopro at the time this was all I had. I was incredibly surprised as to how well it worked and how much detail it picked up in the water. It goes to show that you don't always need to have the best gear to capture great images you just have to be in the right place at the right time.Inspiration
I wanted to capture the elegance of such a feared creature, showing that it is not just always a killing machine like so many people think.Editing
Yes I changed it to black and white in Lightroom 5 and did some minor light and contrast adjustmentsIn my camera bag
On this trip I had in my bag: Canon 60d Olympus shockproof waterproof point and shoot Sigma 17-70mm Canon 100 - 400Feedback
Get out of your comfort zone!!! I know a lot of people would quite happily pass up on a trip like this! But I would highly recommend anyone to try it! The trips that you go on are very professional and in the end of the day you are in a big cage that the Sharks can't get in! For shots like this you need to date to be adventurous and just go for it!
