I have not been taking photos very long bought my first camera in 2012 a second hand Pentax K10 purchased on EBay

I upgraded to a Pentax K5 in 2013 again second hand Pentax K10 purchased on EBay

During 2014 I decided to sell my Pentax and bought a second hand Sony Nex 7 and then a Sony A6000
In 2015 I purchased a Sony A7ii and decided to keep my Sony A6000 after sellinmg the Nex 7 to a friend

I love my new camera and I go out with my camera several times each week

This shot was taken the first day that I had the Sony Nex 7

It was taken late at night it was that dark and all I could see was the silhouette of the windmill I had to guess the position of the camera. also I was not familiar with the camera settings I had to use the light from my mobile phone to see the camera and locate the shutter button

I took 5 shots before I managed to get the camera in the correct position without cutting off the windmill sails

This photo has not been edited it is as taken

I have had this photo printed on a canvas and I am proud to have it showing on my lounge wall

Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken at Wrawby Postmill in the village of Wrawby in Lincolnshire England
Time
it was taken at 9pm
Lighting
It was taken late at night it was that dark and all I could see was the silhouette of the windmill I had to guess the position of the camera. also I was not familiar with the camera settings I had to use the light from my mobile phone to see the camera and locate the shutter button I took 5 shots before I managed to get the camera in the correct position without cutting off the windmill sails
Equipment
I have not been taking photos very long bought my first camera in 2012 a second hand Pentax K10 purchased on EBay I upgraded to a Pentax K5 in 2013 again second hand Pentax K10 purchased on EBay This year I decided to sell my Pentax and bought a second hand Sony Nex 7 from a friend who is a professional only uses Sony I love my new camera and I am now bitten by the Bug (viewbug) I go out with my camera several times each week This shot was taken the first day that I had the Sony Nex 7 I also used a tripod to take this shot
Inspiration
I was driving past the Windmill on my way back from taking night photos of the Humber Bridge it was a clear sky so I decided to stop and test my new camera and I am glad that I did I have returned several times but have not been able to capture a shot as good as this one
Editing
This photo has not been edited it is as taken other than a slight crop
In my camera bag
my Sony A6000 and Sony Nex7 Cameras Macro Lens, zoom lens and wide angle lens Lens cleaner several spare batteries spare memory cards small torch for night time shooting Bug Spray
Feedback
take some test shots to make sure you have framed the subject If possible try taking several shots with different setting be patient these shots can take some time for the camera to process
