Location
I took this photo on a farm in eastern Alberta, CanadaTime
I took this picture late in the day, in the golden hour. It was rainy and cold.Lighting
The lighting was all natural light, and with it being late in the day, and sun beginning to set, it was perfect.Equipment
I used my Olympus E3 with a 200-400 zoom lens. I hand held my camera.Inspiration
I had just finished doing a graduation photo shoot. The girl I was photographing was wearing a beautiful, long ivory gown and these cool shoes, she had ordered from Japan. It was freezing and raining, and we were done, but I really wanted to get a picture of these shoes! I took the rose and put them on the truck.Editing
Yes, at the time I used Aperture and Color Effex Pro.In my camera bag
I do not have my Olympus E3 anymore. Now I use the Olympus OMD EM1, which is a mirrorless micro 4/3 lens. For lenses, I have a 12-40mm Pro, a 40-150 mm pro lens, both 2.8. I also have a 75mm 1.8 lens and a 45mm 1.8 lens.Feedback
I love taking photos in cloudy conditions, and if it is just after a storm and in the golden hour, that is even better! Have fun shooting, and when you think you are done, take a few more - that's how this picture happened! Always be looking for details you can fit together that tell a story of some kind. Have fun creating and editing. For this picture, I really dodged and burned alot. I almost always feel like I am painting when I edit. It is relaxing for me !
