I took some photos of this beauty early one morning minutes after the rain had stopped. The fog was still lingering and the air was brisk. I've always been a fan of the older GTOs. This one had a 6.5 Litre engine and sure sounded great. Copyright 2010 Orlando Delbert Photography

I took this photo in the between 5am and 6am.Lighting
I took this using only natural light. It just stopped raining and there was a fog that was lingering, so the lighting was soft.Equipment
I took this photo with a Nikon D-80 camera body and a Nikkor 24mm-85mm lens. I also used a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I’ve always been a fan of American muscle cars. I drove to the California central coast from Los Angeles to see a friend and saw this beautiful blue 6.5 Litre Pontiac GTO parked across from her place. Two nights later, I went out taking photos overnight in the fog and rain. When I came back the following morning, the owner left the car outside of the garage. It stopped raining minutes before I arrived. The air was cold and brisk. The fog was still lingering. And the quiet was almost deafening. I saw it as a perfect opportunity to take a few photos before anyone would be around and ruin the moment.Editing
I’m a visual effects artist and saw this as an opportunity to do something special. I’ve developed a way to take photos of automobiles and process them to bring out the warmth in the paint or to make the car look more polished and wet. I did some editing in Adobe After Effects, as well as with Adobe Photoshop using a combination of High Dynamic Range and special visual effects techniques used in motion pictures, incorporating multiple layers, masks, and transfer modes. I shot through some hedges, which helped add depth, as well as add a green hue seen in and around the headlamps. In my camera bag
I carry with me a Nikon D-80 camera body. The lens I use the most is a Nikkor 24mm – 85mm lens. I also take with me my iPad 3. I also use an older Manfrotto tripod. I believe as long as we know our tools, and the fundamentals of light and photography, we can capture dynamic imagery.Feedback
I always suggest knowing your equipment. You don’t need the latest and greatest to take good photos. Learn the differences in light densities, color temperatures, and lens speeds. Camera bodies will always change, but good lenses one will hold onto for many years. Always make sure you have enough light for your desired affect. Also consider what the post process will involve when you are planning the shoot. And plan beforehand to help ensure you get the shots you want, have access to the location, and have all of the gear you will need with you.
