Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo whilst on holiday in South Africa at a little game farm called Dikhololo.

Time

We had gone out on a game drive in the late afternoon and saw these giraffes quite close to the road. This one seemed curious about us and stopped eating for a minute to observe us, which is when I snapped this pic.

Lighting

This was taken at about 5pm, just before golden light had set in.

Equipment

This was shot on a Sony RX 100 mark 4, handheld

Inspiration

Giraffes are a favourite animal of mine to photograph and this one seemed sufficiently curious that he would stand still long enough for me to get a nice shot of him

Editing

I lightened the giraffe itself as he was quite dark against the sky

In my camera bag

usually my Sony RX 100 mark 4 and sometimes a tripod

Feedback

Not really This was not a particularly difficult shot to take. I should have exposed better for the background.
