This web is actually not twisted up into an hourglass or lemniscate (infinity sign). Due to the way the grasses grow, the wind blows and the manner in which the spider spun its web, from this angle it looks like the symbol for infinity.

I noted this as I was kneeling to snap an image of yet another spider web in the grass just beneath me. I moved a bit to get the sun to glint off the silk threads and to ensure there was no obstructing grasses.
