Dawn at Lake Lilla in the Tasmanian highlands, next to a tree around one thousand years old, its roots wrapping around the earth's surface and down to its depths. In this ancient place, one of its natives, a currawong, watched the dawn on the branch above me, ghosting itself as it turned its head in the middle of the exposure.
