I first saw this lovely creature, much smaller, prancing around as if practicing his (her) footwork with Mom watching in the nearby tall grass. Two or so weeks later, the fawn is larger and the spots appear to be fading. It has been rare to see deer in their summer coats as they usually appear as the weather changes as do their color.

I saw this bright orange flower in my meadow, looked it up in my Wildflower book and saw it is called Butterfly-Weed. I went back with my camera and a
