Behind The Lens

Location

One of the beaches just outside Port Elizabeth

Time

Late afternoon, just before sunset. We were getting ready to take some long exposures of the ocean crashing on the rocks and to do some light painting with steelwool

Lighting

Late afternoon soft light is the best time for photography and even more so when taking drone photos as the light intensity is just some much brighter when the drone is in the sky

Equipment

DJI Mavic 2

Inspiration

The beautiful colour of the pattern and the pattern of the rocks

Editing

I most likely tweaked the saturation and possibly moved the hue slightly... and remove digital noise

In my camera bag

FUJI XH1 35mm F2 100-400 16-80 F4 12mm Rokinon F2 DJI Mavic 2

Feedback

Wait for the late afternoon when the light is softer and shadows are less pronounced. Move around to find a good composition Use TRIPOD MODE in the drone so it hangs stiller Make use of ND filters to slow the shutter speed down a bit.
