Location
This was taken at Spring Grove Park. It is one of my favorite parks in the area, and also where I got married!Time
It was early evening, after a long day at work.Lighting
I almost didn't go to the park as the sky was grey with no signs of the sun. I took a chance and went anyway, and ended up spending over an hour shooting before I lost the light completely!Equipment
Canon EOS 50D, EF-S 18-55mm @25mm, Manfrotto tripod, no flashInspiration
We had some pretty significant wind the previous weekend, that took down a lot of leaves. The carpet of leaves on the grass was stunning.Editing
This is 3 bracketed shots brought together in HDR Efex Pro.In my camera bag
Canon 50D, EF-S 18-55mm, EF 100mm macro (my favorite lens in the whole wide world, at least so far :)), EF 70-300 (courtesy of a wonderful photo friend that GAVE it to me after upgrading her own lens.. I hope to pay it forward and pass it on to someone else soon, upon upgrading myself), Speedlite 430EX, plenty of extra Sandisk Extreme memory cards, two spare batteries, remote timer, a variety of filters, lens hoods, and lots of other stuff I couldn't possibly hope to use all in one shoot!Feedback
Using a tripod was essential for the bracketed shots here - and also allows for a longer exposure for a smooth water effect. Bottom line though, if you get a big storm near the end of fall, find a park! Chances are the leaves will be left undisturbed by park staff for at least a few days.
