Location
This photo was taken on a ranch in the foothills west of the city of Loveland in Colorado before sunset.Time
This was taken in late afternoon of late February so the light was very low.Lighting
Due to the low light from the late winter afternoon, I needed to increase my camera sensor's ISO to enable a faster shutter speed to capture the movement of the horses and the ranch hands.Equipment
I used a Nikon mirror less Z6 ii camera body with a Nikon VR 70-200mm f/4 tele-zoom lens that was handheld.Inspiration
I wanted to capture the movement of the horses with the riders across the pasture of the ranch with the foothills in the background to get the 'essence' of a western landscape image.Editing
I did post-processing using Adobe Lightroom Classic to adjust the tones and bring attention (using gradient filter tools) to the horses and the riders. In my camera bag
In addition to my Nikon Z6 ii camera body, I usually keep a 70-200mm f/4 telezoom lens with an FTZ adapter to it will mount on the Z6ii, along with a Z 24-120mm F/4 lens, and a 16-35mm f/4 wide-zoom lens, plus a rocket blower sensor cleaner, spare batteries and extra SD storage cards, and a wired shutter release cable.Feedback
Don't be afraid to raise your camera's ISO high enough to use a faster shutter speed to freeze the action in this low light situation. Camera sensors do a fairly good job of minimizing 'noise' from the higher ISO and there are great tools like TOPAZ AI that will eliminate sensor noise.
