Candid Portrait Photography in Black and White. Taken during a wonderful family moment of the surprise proposal of my youngest daughter. The scene was set high on a hill at the Horseshoe Pass in Wales , she had been brought to the place and all were dressed for the part under the take that they were only there to take part in a photo session for me. She had no idea that she was being set up for a very romantic proposal in front of friends and family. In fact , even as he went down on one knee and popped the question she looked towards me and shouted , "Is this real or for the photo?" , as she was still completely in the dark. This photograph is my favourite from the selection I managed to shoot as the action unfolded because I was lucky enough to capture that perfect moment of bliss between them , after the proposal was said and the ring presented , after the acceptance was sealed with a kiss and the lookers on were acknowledged. This is that moment when they shared the moment of joy at deciding to spend the rest of their lives together. Taken from a distance on a cloudy , windy mountain top near sunset , at a low pov with my trusty Nikon D3500 and Nikkor 70-300 lens struggling against the breeze. The original shots were in colour and altered to a natural greyscale black and white in post processing.
