My workplace chapel gardenTime
Early evening about 4 PMLighting
The photo was taken outdoors in natural light. The sun was at angle streaming down on the bed of flowers in the lawn. Due to the surrounding buildings and the tall trees there was a play of shadows and light on the lawn. Only some areas were in the direct path of the sun's rays and the bed of flowers was one of them. This particular flower was blooming on a long stalk and was head above the rest and was catching the sunlight just right. I was ready with my camera.Equipment

The beauty of the flower, the quiet, peaceful ambience of the Chapel's open doors and the empty pews and the overall beauty of the moment in the garden.Editing

I make sure I always have my Canon PowerShot SX400 IS. Along with it, these days I also have a Canon 200D II 24.1 MP DSLR with an EF-S 18-55mm is STM lens, an EF-S 55-250mm is STM lens, a Tamron A17E AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD macro telephoto lens and an EF-S 10-18mm F/4.5-5.6 is STM zoom lens.Feedback
Nature in any form is beguiling. There is always that fleeting moment that can be trapped in time with a camera. Here, I believe I captured one of them. The flower, its vibrant colours, the sunlight. As the seasons change, this flower will wilt, wither and go to seed. The flower bed will dry out. The leaves of the trees around will change colours with the seasons and fall. New branches will sprout. Who knows, if in the next season, the sunlight will fall exactly the the same way on the flower bed, will not be obstructed by the newly sprouted branches or new buildings will not come up to block the sun or direct it to light up another portion of the garden? Who knows which seasonal flowers the gardener will plant the coming year? The moment is here and now.
