The Mysore Palace, India, lit up spectacularly with more than 96, 000 bulbs. This illumination event occurs every Sunday for 45 mins in the evening throughout the year and during the "Dasherra" festival. It is one of the major tourist attractions in India.
It was built by the English architect, Henry Irwin in the Indo-Saracenic style, between 1897-1912 century.

Princely states were abolished in India after its Independence in 1947. They were incorporated into the Dominion of India but the state of Mysore founded in 1399 and ruled by the Wodeyar dynasty to date without interruption continues to have informal titular rulers. The palace is now the home of Yaduveer (Prince) Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wadiyar.
