Behind The Lens

Location

My husband loves to surprise me with flowers for no reason and these were so beautiful I had to take some pictures.

Time

If I remember correctly I took this around 5PM but since it was an indoor shot it wouldn't have really matter what time of day.

Lighting

I just used natural room lighting and no flash.

Equipment

This picture was taken with a cellphone camera, Galaxy Note 9 on a macro setting.

Inspiration

The blooms were all so beautiful and I noticed the way the light was creating interesting shadows that would make for more texture in the photo.

Editing

I did use Snapseed to change the photo to black & white but no other processing was done.

In my camera bag

I am just starting to get into photography and I haven't purchased any professional equipment yet. So far all of my photos have been taken with a cellphone camera but I know I need better equipment if I hope to sell any photos and become a more serious photographer.

Feedback

My best advice is to just trust your instinct. If something captures your eye and you think it is going to make a great photo, take pictures from several angles and if possible with varied lighting.
