I took this photo at home

It was taken around almost noontime when I was about to take my brunch

Lighting

yes. there was natural light and I used a flash with a diy diffuser plus a bounce card attached on the unit.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D90 and my 105 micro nikkor 2.8 for this particular shot. It was handheld at that time since this subject is very mobile.

Inspiration

I was about to take my brunch when I noticed this jumper lurking behind my bread basket. I took my gear and she was still around when I came back. I waited for the right moment when she was just in front of a plastic bag and took a couple of shots. It came out pretty well with the colorful plastic serving as a backdrop.

Editing

It was post processed with Lightroom Classic. Made some color adjustments and sharpening. I did some cropping and alignment too. Mostly done with the basic enhancement nothing too heavy.

In my camera bag

I don't usually carry a bag unless it's an assignment. My equipments consists of my Nikon cameras and my 24-70 nikon lens. My 12-24 landscape lens or my 20mm prime. Normally I would just bring my Sony a6000 and 16mm sigma prime when I'm not on a photoshoot. At home I shoot macro with my Nikon 105 f2.8 or my Sony 90mm f2.8 G macro lens with flash on or off-camera using remote triggers. I also do reverse lens macro shots or using my raynox 250 to get more magnification.

Feedback

Because of the pandemic I am now shooting more macro photos at home and around my garden. One needs to be very patient when photographing live insects. Although it varies- some can be so movable and unpredictable while some can be very stable and cooperative. It pays to study and get to know their behaviours before shooting. This way you get better shots and great photos. Learning to stack focus will be very helpful too and using flash with the right diffusers will make some awesome captures.
