I FINALLY GOT A NEW CAMERA!
Right around Christmas time 2019 my faithful Nikon D40 finally called it quits after 6+ years.
I am thrilled to introduce you to Nikki the Nikon D5600, my new baby.
I decided to give her the newborn shoot she deserves and this was my favorite photo :)

Location
I took it just outside my apartment in some shade. You don't always hafta go too far to find a great location and light!Time
I believe it was around 2pm. I remember the sun still being pretty high up overhead so I found a nice shady area to help diffuse the light.Lighting
If you have to shot mshoot around midday, like I did, find shade! It Will become your best friend if you're shooting i natural light.Equipment
The only camera equipment used was a Nikon d7000 that I actually borrowed from a friend since this camera was replacing my old one, which was broken.Inspiration
I always loved the idea of doing newborn styled images with subjects other than newborns, like kittens or puppies or something new in your life! This is the first camera I've been able to purchase in of 10 years so I wanted to do something special to celebrate and show her off.Editing
Very little. I removed some dust that was in the camera and reduced the grain a bit.In my camera bag
Right now I'm carrying my Nikon d5600, the standard lens and a 70-300mm, the charger, lens cleaner, a remote and receiver, manuals And my tripod.Feedback
Have fun with it! Don't worry about what others may think. So long as you live your photo and what you're doing that's all that matters. I had quite a few people who just didn't "get" this photo and that's ok.
