The photo was taken in Hamburgs famous "Speicherstadt" at night on a rainy day. I honestly didn't think it was really worth taking pictures in this weather, but went out anyway after a concert in the Elbphilharmonie. I just stumbled across this place on a bridge not far away from our hotel.Time
It was around 22:30 after a concert.Lighting
The buildings had that very faint lighting which fascinated me at once.Equipment
The photo was taken with my Fuji X-T20 and a Fujinon XF18-55mm lens at 18mm. I used a tripod as shutter speed was 15s at f/7Inspiration
I love the atmosphere in Hamburgs old quarters, especially at night and especially in winter when not so many tourists are there.Editing
Nothing in particular, just developed the RAW file in Adobe light room with the odd improvements like white balance, exposure, sharpness and clarity. In my camera bag
Fuji X-T2, Fujinon XF16-55, Fujinon XC50-230, Walimex 12mm, external flash, tripod, polarizing filter, ND filter, timer, remote control, sensor swaps... for the winter times I also carry a USB lens heater.Feedback
I think for night photography you need a bit of practice. Just play around with different settings so that you know what works best in certain situations. Don't set your ISO too high as you don't want too much noise in your pictures and of course always use a tripod. Everything else depends on the effect you want to achieve...
