Behind The Lens

Location

The shoot was taken during a home shooting in Switzerland. The model and I took the opportunity for a mutual portfolio expansion.

Time

The photo was made at about 11 o'clock a.m., because at that time the natural light illuminated the room very nice.

Lighting

I stand at the balcony and shoot through the window. The only source of light was the frontal natural light through the window.

Equipment

I had to make an effort to use other lenses than my beloved 50 mm prime Lens during this home shooting. But how boring, in this photo, the my fast nifty fifty fit exactly ;-) No other gear (such as reflectors, flashes etc.) were needed.

Inspiration

Boudoir photos in this style are part of the standard repertoire of a sensual home shooting. So here was the motivation to capture some nice settings in this style.

Editing

After selecting the photos I choosed the color look for each set (here a rather gloomy, which should remind on an early morning hour), then I corrected, if necessary, the light of the picture a little bit. Afterwards the pic has been cropped and last but not least, I made a classic beauty retouching. Et voilà

In my camera bag

For my portrait shootings I always use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: The 50mm, a 85mm, a 105mm and 150mm macro as well and the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom for the slightly wider angles.

Feedback

It needs an open, relaxed model and a room with great light. A camera with manual control and then nothing stands in the way of photos in this style. Oh yes, one more thing, the post-processing needs some experience ;-)
