Location
This image was taken within a studio in an old cotton mill in Lancashire, England. It was a cold day and even with the heaters on it was still cold!Time
With it being a studio set-up the time of day isn't that useful here, but for information, it was around 11:30 in the morning when the image was taken.Lighting
The setup here is really simple, One very large softbox raised high and on my right as I took the image. This gave me a softer shadow but still with an edge I like.Equipment
For this shot, I was using my Canon 5d Mk III using and 70-200mm f2.8 L series. This was supported by a studio flash unit with a large softbox. I cannot recall the actual make and size as it was a rented studio.Inspiration
I like my images to have an edge and mood to them, almost is despair in the emotions. I'm not sure why I guess I see so many "nice" images that just feel flat. So here I wanted to get that feeling. After expressing the mood and a few shots the model slipped into this and bingo. It is a little soft for it to be a cracking image, but I like the end mood and feel.Editing
For this image there is limited post processing, a mono conversion and cropping in Lightrooms, followed by the removal of skin blemishes and some dodging and burning within Photoshop. In my camera bag
Now that depends. I'm normally a street photographer so it would be my Olympus O-MD EM-5 Mk II ith a 12-40mm Lens. For studio work, it is the Canon 5d MkIII supported by the 70-200mm lensFeedback
