This must be one of the best shots I've ever seen of a bee. Beautiful capture!

Slendid shot, but you already know that.I see you are a pro,and I would like your advice.I have a Nikon D 5100 and 18-55 lens kit,and I understand now that is a limited one.I love portrairs, macro photography, and my question is:what lens do I need to use for my camera to take these kind of photos? Thanks.

photo was taken in the garden of my friend in the springTime
photographed early in the morning because the insects are relaxed and slowLighting

I shot with Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro, Canon Macro Twin Lite MT-24 EXInspiration
crocuses were opened for the first time this spring, it was quiet and scented flowers! I watched the bees come into cups of crocus and linger inside because it was full of dust! I stood on my knees and began to shoot :)Editing
I only shoot in RAW and use Photoshop for mild interventionIn my camera bag
Canon EOS 5D Mark II , Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L ,Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS , Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II , SIGMA 15-30mm F3.5-4.5 EX DG , Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro , Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite , Canon Speedlite 580EXFeedback
I think there are three factors that determine the best shot - skill, technique and patience ! in this case I chose two crocus and waited for the bees to enter inside! As previously adjusted aperture of f 8 ,shutter speed of 1/200, iso of 50 and I did a test shot :)
