Location
This photo was taken when I was on holiday in Christchurch and staying in a old Hotel in Governors Bay, Lyttelton, Christchurch, New Zealand.Time
I got up quite early to walk down the road opposite where I was staying to get this sunrise. I took this photo at 6:10 am 1st of March 2015. The day before I walked down to this spot to scout it out before deciding to take this photo.Lighting
I take a few shots to see what it looks like before before taking the final shot. All natural light.Equipment
Canon EOS 600D on tripod & a RC-6 wireless remote.Inspiration
I love capturing sunrise's & sunsets so try & take some sunsets & sunrise shots when I'm away.Editing
I only ever do minimal post processing. I have photoshop Elements 11 & used for this photo enhance auto levels of contrast, color correction & lighten shadows & darken highlights. In my camera bag
I normally have in my bag these days ( I've up graded from my EOS 600D to the 5D MKll) of gear, now I have 2 x Canon EOS 5D Mark 2 bodies, lenses a Tamron 28mm - 300mm & a Tamron 150mm - 600mm, a wireless remote which come in very handy & gets used a lot, ND & ND graduated filters, a small torch, and some cleaning gear.Feedback
When using a tripod & doing long exposure's always turn of the image stabilization, I learnt this a couple of years ago after going out on a night shoot & came back with all my photo's out of focus & took me a while to find out why. Always use a tripod & a remote. Have fun playing around with exposure's this is the way I learnt. Happy shooting everyone.
