Location
I took this photo in Piatra Craiului National Park (Zarnesti, Brasov county, Romania). The park is best known for: the most spectacular ridge in the Carpathian Mountains and the backdrop scenes filmed here for the movie Cold Mountain. It has one of the largest biodiversity of wildlife in Romania, including many large carnivores: wolfs, brown bears, lynx.Time
It was jut before sunset (aprox. 17:00 - Romanian timezone)Lighting
Well, the lighting wasn't special, but the color contrast was beautiful.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 18-105mm lens on a Cullmann Nanomax 260 tripod. No filters.Inspiration
First of all it was the contrast between the cold light surrounding the house and the warm light generated by the bulb. Second it was the subject: an isolated house between trees with a part of the mountain as a background. Unfortunately it was a boring sky that day witch didn't help me at all, it didn't snow either, but sometimes you have a very strong felling about a place or an certain event that you must do something to keep it in your memories. So, I did the photo anyway, and it has turned out that it was a good decision after all.Editing
Yes, I did. I used Lightroom for basic retouching and some Photoshop to correct some contrast issues and to remove some spots. In my camera bag
I usually carry a Nikon D610 + 16-35 mm f/4 for landscapes, a Nikon 105 mm f/2.8 for macro and a Nikon D500 + 200-500 mm f/5.6 for wildlife.Feedback
I'm not a professional photographer so I usually don't give advices, but I think that every person who loves photography should always carry their camera and keep their heart, eyes and mind open. In that particular order! I think that, in order to be a good photographer, you have to be persistent, be able to have strong feelings, and to know how to express them using your imagination. The camera settings are the last thing you should think when taking a picture.
