The Infantry Man, aka Iron Mike as seen near the Main entrance of Ft Lewis Army Base, Washington. Mt Rainier seen in the background at ~ 40 miles away. Photo is an HDR comprised of 3 shots, taken with a Nikon D5000 and a Full frame Sigma 70-300 DL Macro-Supra Lens. (Old lenses can be used on digital equipment, check compatibility). Because of the great distance between subjects, the major challenge with this shot is Mt. Rainier almost always appears to be a bit hazy from atmospheric distortion. Post processing done with Photomatix Pro HDR and PS CS6.
