You know how animals are, if you wanted them to pose, they won't. So when I started to take this photo for the Umbrella contest, I had set up flowers on the umbrella handle with a squirrel garden decoration next to it . Mochi suddenly decided that he had to be in the photo!!LOL! What a ham. Anyways it was a lot better than what the original topic was going to be especially since he was wearing his best tuxedo and white gloves. I wonder if he wants to be a model and is expecting to be paid in cat treats.

Thank you. Mochi was actually lifting his paw to leave and I thought to myself, 1 last shot and it turned out to be the best.

Definite model material. Very cute cat, Mochi is. I have 20 cats to care for and most do not like being photographed but some do. Don't let Mochi get to close to the bears and racoons.

When Mochi was a kitten, I would hold him and show him what type of creatures were out there so that he would have a healthy respect and fear of them.LOL!

Great photo of a Tuxedo cat. After all, if he got all dressed up he should have his picture taken.

I was trying to come up with a photo entry for the Umbrella Photo Contest. My idea was to use an umbrella as a decoration in the front garden, incorporating it with the small figurines and flowers. I got everything into position when Mochi, our cat decided he wanted to be in the photo. Like all animals, good luck tryring to get them to do what you want them to do. I started taking photos. He just sat there looking uninterested, then scratching, you know, all those things that cat do. Finally he got bored and was in the process of leaving when I took this last shot!Time
It was in the early afternoon on a very sunny day.Lighting
Because it was so sunny, I placed the umbrella so that the outside of the umbrella cut down the amount of glare so that I would have an easier time taking the photoEquipment
My HDC-TM 90 VIDEO CAMERA carmera feature and a tripod. Although the CAMERA feature is secondary to the VIDEO CAMERA, it still allows me to take good photos, keeping in mind what the limitations are. It has manual as well as auto and macro features. The reason I use this type of camera is that I do a lot of video filming of animals in the urban setting and this gives me a better quality of HD video. A picture is worth a thousand words, but I also like seeing the whole behaviour of the animal in the situation. This way I have the option of both, especially if the animal is out of my camera range , but still in my video camera range.Inspiration
This was to be an entry in the Umbrella Photo Contest. I did not plan on Mochi as being part of the initial photo, but the cat decided to join. The situation totally was not working, and as Mochi decided he had had enough and was leaving, I took one last photo and it turned out to be the best. It was truely an accidental photo.Editing

With animals as part of the shot, depending on their disposition, they are not always cooperative. I have learned to just keep shooting photos alot of photos in the hopes that you get them in that one unplanned photo that turns out to be the best of the bunch.
