Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the Pine Creek Gorge Natural Area off of Bohen Run Trail in North Central Pennsylvania.

Time

This photo was taken in the evening.

Lighting

Although it wasn't planned, what helps this photo is that the sun is low in sky allowing for a bluer sky and better lighting of the trees above and the hillside in the distance.

Equipment

This was a very simple setup. I put a GoPro on the ground below the hammock.

Inspiration

I often take a hammock while hiking and as I was relaxing and looked up, I felt it was a perfect opportunity to create an image that was a little different.

Editing

There was some slight post-processing to enhance the color.

In my camera bag

Although this photo was one of the simplest of setups, I typically carry my Sony mirror-less camera with two lenses, a sturdy tripod, a gopro and a Joby Gorillapod. I also typically have ND filters and camera remote.

Feedback

Always look up! Look around and search out perspectives that are different from the norm.
