Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken during a workshop in Busnag, Switzerland. We made a little break so we had the chance to shoot some Photos in the garden.

Time

The photo was taken in the middle of the afternoon (30th July 2017 at 14:20). One would think, no optimal light conditions. But there is always a way to the goal.

Lighting

I tried to deepen the knowledge and sought a place to photograph the model in a beautiful light. Well, that's the result.

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS 5D MK III with the superb Canon 135mm f2.0 L Lens.

Inspiration

The workshop was organised in two groups with two models. So we had indoor studio shootings and free outdoor shooting time. The goal was to capture the incredible eyes of the model that flatters her entire appearance.

Editing

Of course, I also used the usual beauty retouching in this photo (the usual dodge & burn, a little made the eyes light up, the skin corrected and set light accents). But in this photo, everything is very discreet.

In my camera bag

For my portrait shootings I always have my full format DSLR, a set of fast primes: The 50mm, a 85mm, a 135mm, often a 105mm macro as well and the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom.

Feedback

Try to find the best lighting conditions for the realization of your image idea and then photograph your model. The most important thing is and remains the light.
