Excellent photo! I love the composition and lighting. This is actually one of the best "night" photos I've ever seen!

So much to like about this image. Technically and subjectively excellent.

Location
This was taken on the beach at Selsey Bill.Time
I knew that the moon would be very bright so I planned to reach Selsey at about 7.30pm when the moon would up and the sky would be very dark.Lighting
I had planned to include the moon in the shot originally. But after a few shots it was clear that the moon was much too bright to give the "Moonlight on the Lifeboat Station" effect that I was after so I recomposed without the moon in shot and, Bingo! perfect lighting.Equipment
It was shot with an old SMC Pentax 24mm F3.5 manual lens on a Pentax K1 full frame DSLR. I used a carbon fibre tripod to acheive a 30 second exposure to flatten the sea.Inspiration
I loved the old Lifeboat Station, it was an iconic sight on Selsey Bill and knowing the position of the moon in relation to the Lifeboat Station it was a great chance to get a moody night time shot of it.Editing
Yes, I do a lot of post-processing on my pictures, sharpening some parts, lightening or darkening others. In my camera bag
Normally three or four lenses (this shoot being a landscape would probably have been 20mm, 24mm, 30mm & 50mm), Tripod, Geared tripod head, Remote shutter release, Viewfinder cover, Spare battery, 100mm ND & Polarising filters, cleaning liquid & tissues.Feedback
Do as much research as you can before you go, google earth is a landscape photographers best friend. My wife is always impressed that I know my way round everywhere we go. A subscription to OS Maps is very useful too, you can have them on your phone and tablet/pc. Also, if you are dealing with the sea, make sure you know what the tide is going to do. Obviously make sure someone knows where you are going if you plan to go off by yourself.
