I love the gradual change from transparency to reflection, and the percise composition.

I love this photo! The reflection, the zen underwater sand garden... amazing!

Location
This photo was taken at Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side.Time
This was shot during sunset in the middle of a mild winter. My girlfriend and I were huddled up in our puffy jackets trying to race against the setting sun and find the best place to shoot as we hadn't scouted this location at all and this was more of a spur of the moment/take some sunset photos on our way back home.Lighting
The lighting is all natural light.Equipment
This was shot on a tripod using my Nikon D5200, with a wide angle 10-24mm lens and a polarizing filter.Inspiration
Lake Tahoe is renowned for its incredibly blue and turquoise water, so originally I was really trying to capture that during the sunset. However, since this was a very spur of the moment photo shoot, I was running around trying to find the best shot for the sunset and never found a spot that quite demonstrated the amazing blue qualities of the water there. Luckily, I stumbled on this beautiful zen garden like feature in the sand which is never there during the summer due to Sand Harbor being a very popular swimming tourist location. I set up the polarizing filter to capture both the underwater zen garden and the mirror like stillness of the water with the reflection of the trees and sunset colors to really try to maximize the scene.Editing
As previously stated, Lake Tahoe is known for its amazingly blue water however I didn't quite capture that in this shot/time of day. So I decided to go in a different artistic direction, to really highlight the underwater zen garden in the sand and the brilliance the color gradient in a sunset that was void of any clouds. So I tried to go for a much punchier processing. In my camera bag
Typically I have my Nikon D5200 with a 10-24mm, 50mm prime and 85-200mm zoom lens as well as occasionally my DJI Spark for aerial photography.Feedback
You never know what you're going to get in spur of the moment shots, so don't be afraid to find something different when you're in a location that is known for very specific things. I wish I could've captured brilliant turquoise water but it just wasn't in the cards that day.
