Location
This photo was taken on Swansea beach.Time
It was mid afternoon on a cloudy day shortly after a big storm. I was walking with my wife and the sea, sand and sky were almost the same colour. I hadn't taken my camera with because it was such a grey day but there in the middle of the sand was an entire tree washed up on the sand.Lighting
Because it was such a grey day you could hardly tell the the difference between the sky, sea and sand. There was no shadow but the wind was blowing the sand creating the soft shadowy effect. The tree was dark in colour and stood out against the greyness.Equipment
Not having my camera and seeing this I went to my iPhone and adjusted the exposure to emphasise the outline of the tree. No other equipment was usedInspiration
It was the shear unexpectedness of seeing a tree on its side in the middle of the beachEditing
The original image was in colour but you could barely tell so rather than convert image to black and white I simply reduced the saturation and increased the contrast slightlyIn my camera bag
