Location
The photo was taken in the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara,Turkey. I had toured the country visiting the many historic and iconic stops the country is abundant with. Of the many incredible objects housed in the museum, I found myself fascinated with the ceiling designs incorporated into the structure! I titled this image "Things Are Looking Up!"Time
The time of day with regards to this image is unimportant because it was taken indoors with the museum lighting-although I will report the lighting source as tungsten primarily.Lighting
Above and inside the structure itself there was a light source although I really can't say what source it was. The source was responsible for the shadows cast on the wooden structure.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon T3i, using a Tamron 28-75 mm lens, handheld, no flashInspiration
I was shooting the artifacts in the museum for about an hour. What caught my attention was the fact that in a place dedicated to the past was this design that was out of character and clearly modernistic. I'm a big fan of patterns and unique designs-the different color tones simply added to the beauty of the piece.Editing
The image is presented as it was shot. It is a simple image so there was no need to enhance anything. In my camera bag
I usually carry at least 2 Canon camera bodies-a 60D and a T3i. I favor Tamron lenses-a 16-300mm mounted on the 60D and a 10-24mm lens mounted on the T3i. Also in the bag is a 28-75mm lens, as well as a Canon powershot. I keep an abundance of spare SD cards, batteries and filters as well, along with rain gear for the cameras. A gorilla pod on occasion has been the difference between the shot and not!Feedback
Sometimes the best opportunity for a shot is unexpected. Be prepared to be adaptable to your surroundings-look outside the box. What seems mundane or uninteresting to some just may be your next best shot!
