I actually took this photo from my bedroom window after standing out in the storm for an hour trying to get the perfect shot. Another amazing lightening storm in Alberta, Canada.Time
It was a little before midnight, i had got my kids to bed and headed to a hill top i always sat on to watch storms and possibly capture some great lightening shots. When the storm wasn't looking too wild anymore i decided to head back to the house, but i couldn't just give up on the storm altogether so i decided to sit in the window in my room. and that's when this amazing bolt happened!!Lighting
For lightening shots i find the darker the surrounding the betterEquipment
the camera i used is my Canon Rebel Xsi, and a Sigma 18-200mm lensInspiration
I have always had a bit of an obsession with storms, so when i finally got a faster camera i thought it would be amazing to be able to get some storm shots...through lots of trial and error i finally figured out what to do to get some great shots.Editing
The only post-processing i had done was a little cropping. In my camera bag
my camera of course is my Canon rebel, my lens are Sigma 18-200mm, 18-55mm, wired remote, and my tri-podFeedback
Have patients and really enjoy the storm or anything that you are trying to capture!! Sometimes the best photos happen by accident!!
