Location
I took this photo at Charlevoix Michigan. It's a resort town in Northern Michigan. A scenic beautiful place to be if your a photographer.Time
The time was towards the end of sunset, around 830 p.m. A perfect time for a silhouette shot. A perfect scene.Lighting
Natural lighting always works best for me. I don't get why you would want to use a flash for this photo. A tripod with a long exposure works best in this situation.Equipment
A Canon 60D , with a 18-55 mm, with a Vivitar Pro line 200 tripod.Inspiration
A perfect silhouette of a lighthouse, the sun in the late evening, a boat on the lake and people, made for a perfect photo.Editing
Canon digital professional software for raw, Photoshop for the final photo. In my camera bag
A Canon 60D , with a 18-55 mm 3.5 to a 5.6, a 50 mm 1.4, and a 70-200 mm 2.8 with a 1.4 extender. The flash is a Sigma EF-610 SG Super Flash. The tipod I use is a Vivitar Pro line 200. A UV and Polarising filter. Also a flashlight, and a lens cleaner and a cloth.Feedback
I think being at the right place at the right time is important. But you have to be ready to capture The Moment. It must convey passion and move the viewer. Photography is stopping life at the right time. Your telling a story in still frames.
