Location
This shot was taken on a trip to the Royal International Air Tattoo, which was a local event which I was always meaning to photograph.Time
This was taken during the height of the midday sun but it was also blessed with a cloudy backdrop which added to the depth and texture of the shot.Lighting
The lighting was one of those lucky moments when the clouds had a great break in them at just the right moment, which the aircraft flew into. This was a one shot moment from a burst of about 10 that happened to catch the moment just in the right place at the right time.Equipment
This was a handheld shot from a Canon 5d2 and a 70-300mm L lens; asimple yet effective set up.Inspiration
I had been shooting for about 2 years seriously and this was a chance opportunity to photograph aircraft in action. The inspiration was to capture some dynamic action shots to add to my portfolio, this was one of many gained that day.Editing
In order to develop my own style, there is a certain way I edit in Lightroom and Photoshop. I have started to process my shots with luminousity masks so this shot took advantage of that process. In my camera bag
Probably way too much but then I shot when and where I can. I have my main kit of Canon bodies, I always carry a spare just in case and I mainly use Canon L lenses for the sharpness and clarity.Feedback
Practice practice practice. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and whilst you may take 1000 shots, it's all worth it for the 1. But also develop your style and stick to it. It's taken me a while to get to this point but ultimately I think I have found it. You will find yours but it does take time.
